Mrs Lucinda Brogden, Ambassador, Avalon Youth Hub
Lucy is a well known business woman and psychologist and has a strong commitment to helping others and to building stronger communities.
Among her many positions Lucy has recently been appointed Chair of the Australian Government’s National Mental Health Commission.
Lucy’s primary areas of focus are mental health and well-being, particularly in the workplace and the community at large. She takes an evidence based approach to problem solving and social investment.
Lucy has more than 25 years’ commercial experience with companies including Macquarie Group and Ernst & Young and more than ten years in organisational psychology. Specifically, Lucy has worked in trusted advisory roles with some of Australia’s leading CEOs, Managing Partners, Ministers and Chairs in investment banking, finance, law and government. In 2015, Lucy was named as one of the 100 Women of Influence in Australia.
Lucy was appointed the Ambassador for the Avalon Youth Hub at the launch on 18 May 2018.
Mr John Brogden AM, Ambassador, Avalon Youth Hub
John is an Australian businessman, former politician and a leading advocate for suicide prevention.
He was appointed the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in January 2015. Among is many responsibilities he is Chairman of Lifeline, Chairman of UrbanGrowth NSW, and Chairman of the Broken Bay Institute. He is also Chairman of Furlough House Retirement Village.
He was Leader of the Opposition in New South Wales from 2002 to 2005 and a Liberal Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from May 1996 until his resignation in August 2005, representing the electorate of Pittwater.
On Australia Day 2014 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the community, particularly to Lifeline, to the business and financial sectors, and to the Parliament of New South Wales.
John was appointed Ambassador of the Avalon Youth Hub on 18 May 2018.
